I’m happy to share my special friend, Daphne’s, version of “Where I’m From”, the March Writing Prompt & Giveaway at Writing to Distraction:
Where I’m From by Daphne Tieman
I am from the lands of soufflés and flambés, fresh-caught fish and fiddleheads.
I am from the mountain laurel and the pine cone tassel.
I am from maple syrup-scented lumber camps and tripod teepees.
I am from builders and inventors, drunks and teetotalers, prophets and poets.
I am from joy-filled children of God and a blood-blessed Cross.
I am from stubborn women and charming men.
I am from “Too Ra Loo Ra Loo Ra” and
“Open Up Your Heart and Let the Sun Shine In.”
I am from tree houses and spontaneous sing-songs.
I am from unfinished heirloom quilts and Love that never ends.

This was a fun exercise, wasn’t it? I’m from some of those things too.
