On my way to the barn this evening I realized I had a pocket full of odd items. As I felt them I could not help but laugh to myself at the peculiar variety of these things.  Gloves, of course, my eye glasses, a scripture candy wrapper (“Bless the Lord O my soul” – Ps. 103:1), gum, a plastic fork, apple slices for the horses, and the first chapter of one of my WIPs. Yes, I read it to the horses and cats. It helps me to read outloud and hear what it may sound like to the reader. I just love the affirmations I get from the animals. They never say a bad thing about my writing.
